The industry is going through one of its greatest challenges in living memory but with a vaccination programme being rolled out we are looking forward to better times ahead in 2021.
One of the ways the industry will recover effectively is by having great people leading their businesses and focussing on their teams, and HIT Scotland is delighted to be facilitating the Tourism & Hospitality Talent Development Programme. Funded by the Scottish Government this free virtual training programme equips Supervisors, Management and Leaders with the skills, knowledge, and motivation to make an impact when the green shoots appear.
The programme is open to all sectors of Tourism and Hospitality and there are three courses available – Supervisor, Management and Leadership. Anyone interested in taking part, whether they are working or furloughed, can ask their business to nominate them, and those who have been made redundant due to Covid-19 and still wish to remain in the Industry, can apply themselves if they provide contact details for their previous line manager.
The closing date for applications is Friday 5th February and the programme will start week commencing 15th February. Each course consists of a four-hour module per week for ten weeks and will provide invaluable insights, tools, and techniques to help us recover from the impact of the pandemic.
With up to 1,000 places available initially please do spread the word! Full information and application can be found at the HIT Scotland website here.
