The National Outdoor Events Association (NOEA) has announced the first three sponsors supporting its new Training Day, with GL events UK, The Showman’s Show and Qdos Event Hire joining the initiative as founding partners.
The announcement marks a significant milestone for the programme, launched last month to provide practical, hands-on education for professionals working across the outdoor events industry.
Designed around the real operational challenges facing organisers, suppliers and venue professionals, the Training Day will bring together experienced practitioners to share knowledge across subjects including event safety, resilience, procurement, operational planning and emerging legislation.
The support of three of the industry’s most recognised brands underlines the importance being placed on continued professional development across the sector, with each sponsor sharing NOEA’s ambition to strengthen skills, encourage collaboration and invest in the next generation of event professionals.
Susan Tanner, Chief Executive of NOEA, commented, “One of the strongest messages we’ve received since launching the Training Day is that our industry recognises the need to keep learning. Outdoor events continue to evolve at pace, whether that’s legislation, technology, operational resilience or audience expectations. To have organisations like GL events UK, The Showman’s Show and Qdos Event Hire immediately step forward to support the initiative sends a powerful message that our skills have to evolve with them.”
James Thomas, Managing Director of Qdos Event Hire, added, “Our industry has always been built on expertise, professionalism and people willing to share what they’ve learned. The stronger our collective knowledge becomes, the stronger our industry becomes. We’re proud to help create opportunities that give event professionals practical learning they can immediately apply within their own organisations.”
“Education has always played an important role in raising standards across the events industry, and initiatives like the NOEA Training Day help ensure that knowledge is shared between experienced professionals and those developing their careers. We’re delighted to support a programme that is focused on practical learning, collaboration and helping the industry continue to move forward.”
Scott Jameson, CEO of GL events UK, added, “So much is changing in this industry and we’re all trying to keep up. The more we collaborate, the more opportunities there are to pass on skills, lived experience, and new information, the better. That’s what this is all about, and we’re delighted to support it on behalf of our clients and customers.”
Johnny Lance, Event Director of The Showman’s Show, added, “The Showman’s Show has always been about bringing the industry together, whether that’s to discover new products, build relationships or exchange ideas. Supporting the NOEA Training Day is another way of investing in the future of outdoor events.
“We’re looking forward to working with NOEA over the coming months, and to providing a platform for the initiative at this year’s Showman’s Show, where we’ll have more to share about how the partnership will develop.”
The Training Day forms part of NOEA’s wider commitment to strengthening skills and supporting long-term professional development across the outdoor events industry. Further details, including speakers, programme content and delegate registration, will be announced over the coming months.
