Glasgow Science Centre are excited to be welcoming visitors again back from 3rd October with new safety measures in place for some socially distanced science fun. GSC will be open every Saturday and Sunday in October and November, and every day during the October half term break from 9th to 25th Oct inclusive.
Safety of visitors and staff is the top priority when reopening and some of the new measures they have in place include significantly reduced visitor numbers, online booking with allocated timed entry slots, an extensive cleaning schedule and social distancing guidance throughout. All staff and visitors (over 5 years old) will also be required to wear a face mask.
‘Glasgow Science Centre is reopening on 3rd October. We will be open 10.00 – 17.00 on Saturdays and Sundays throughout October and during the Scottish October School Holiday (9th – 25th inclusive).
We are good to go and look forward to welcoming you back safely to Glasgow Science Centre!
CHANGES TO ADMISSION
‘Our top priority is the health and safety of our visitors. To help us manage the number of people in the science centre at one time, all visitors are now required to pre-book admission to Glasgow Science Centre in advance to ensure a safe and enjoyable visit.’
You must also book your car parking and a table(s) for lunch in the Taste Café too, if you require these, as part of your visit.
Please read the following information carefully before you proceed to book.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
You can find lots of information about our reopening, enjoying your visit safely, and what to expect when you arrive in our full FAQ’s. If you are Science passport holder there is additional information about your passport here.
Below are some key things you need to know before booking your admission tickets below.
DO I NEED TO WEAR A FACE MASK?
Yes, all visitors aged over 5 years old will need to wear a face mask during their visit. If you have a condition that prevents you from wearing a face mask, we recommend that you help us to support you by wearing a lanyard from the hidden disabilities sunflower scheme or other organisations who offer exemption cards. More information can be found at https://hiddendisabilitiesstore.com/for-you
DO I NEED TO PRE-BOOK?
Yes. We will be welcoming fewer visitors than normal to ensure that we can maintain social distancing measures according to government guidance. For this reason, we are operating a time entry system and are asking all visitors including Science Passport holders to pre-book online.
We have also allocated specific visiting slots for Science Passport holders to allow us to welcome as many as passport holders as we can.
You will be asked to provide us with your details at time of booking which will be used for NHS Test and Protect.
ARE ALL AREAS OPEN?
Within our galleries we have worked hard to space out our interactives to ensure as many remain available as possible. Please adhere to any social distancing measures that might be in place for specific exhibits. The only gallery which will be fully closed is the “Big Explorer” on the first floor which includes our soft play area.
The Planetarium and Science Show Theatre will remain closed at the moment. The Cineworld IMAX at GSC also remains closed until further notice.
IS THE CAFÉ OPEN
Yes, our café is open and will be operating on a limited capacity with table service. Download and view the eating-in menu.
