Hotel camping for kids arrives in Edinburgh today as a leading hotel on the outskirts of the city – Dalmahoy Hotel & Country Club – launches the captivating experience for little visitors.

The indoor camping experience can be added onto any room reservation and includes a camping tent for two pitched right inside the hotel room.

Complete with every accessory that any discerning camper would need such as comfy bedding, books, soft toys, lanterns and torches, the experience takes glamping to a new level.

The unforgettable adventure begins with a welcome pack and freshly made treat from the popcorn cart on arrival, and also includes take-home gifts such as a bedtime storybook and soft toy.

Dalmahoy also opened a new play park with swings, climbing frames and slides on its extensive grounds this month, adding to its appeal for little adventurers.  Kids also stay and eat for free with a full paying adult.

Alistair Kinchin, general manager at the independently-branded Dalmahoy said: “When you’re on a break with your kids, happy children equals happy parents. We’re a popular hotel for family staycations, so we’re always looking for ways for families to enjoy time together – whether it be family afternoon tea, our brand new play park, and now indoor camping.

“When we road tested indoor camping with some of our smallest customers, they told us it was much more exciting than a normal hotel bed. So I’m sure the experience will be a hit with our mini guests and their grown-ups!”

After having a blast camping in-room, little holidaymakers can then wake to explore the resort’s nature trails, playpark, giant outdoor games, driving range, pitch and putt and swimming pool.

Dalmahoy also recently launched children’s afternoon tea, featuring colourful sandwiches, cakes and goodies, being served at weekends and during school holidays between 2pm-4pm in the hotel’s Douglas Lounge, a relaxed environment for little ones and parents to enjoy a special treat.
