Tiree Music Festival has proven itself a small but mighty part of Scotland’s events landscape, with the 2025 edition bringing the island festival’s total economic contribution to £11 million.

Known as TMF among its attendees, the festival generated its highest ever economic impact last summer, giving the island and surrounding area an impressive £1.6 million boost.

Hailed as one of its most successful editions yet, the 2025 event continued TMF’s sell out streak –  the entirety of tickets have been snapped up for every single edition since its inception.

The festival more than triples the population of Tiree, and 2025 saw visitors flocking from 23 countries including New Zealand, Europe and the rest of Scotland and the UK, to experience the unique blend of authentic Hebridean music and culture, connection to the landscape and blissful vibes.

The event, which stays deliberately small with a capacity of 2,300, is now tuning up for a milestone year, with tickets for TMF’s 15th edition on sale today.

A boutique beachfront celebration, TMF overlooks turquoise waters and white sands, and each year welcomes an impressive line up of folk, trad, roots and indie artists to its three stages.

It has attracted more than 26,300 people to Tiree since 2010, with visitors soaking up the world-class line ups, outdoor and wellness activities including beachfront yoga, saunas and surfing, and a range of children’s activities. Attendees are also able to explore Tiree via the festival’s Island Hopper shuttle bus service.

TMF’s 15th festival will take place from 10 – 12 July 2026, with tickets on sale exclusively to their mailing list at 5pm today, Wednesday 28 January.

Daniel Gillespie, Artistic Director of Tiree Music Festival, said: “TMF is shaped by a simple principle: to grow carefully, stay intimate, and protect and celebrate what makes Tiree special. The event has always punched above its weight and to have made such a significant contribution to Tiree’s economy and cultural landscape over the years makes us incredibly proud. The festival is deliberately small, welcoming and unhurried, and we’ve seen just how much this appeals to people – the demand is phenomenal.

“It feels somewhat miraculous to be heading into our 15th year. What a privilege it is to celebrate incredible music, community spirit and landscape in the ‘Hawaii of the North’, year on year. We’re always looking to top last year’s event and this year is an important birthday – we look forward to celebrating with new and returning visitors this July.

TMF 15 takes place on the Isle of Tiree – one of the world’s most remote and stunning festival locations – between Friday 10 – Sunday 12 July 2026. Tickets go on sale via the mailing list at 5pm, Wednesday 28 January. Sign up at tireemusicfestival.co.uk/mailing-list.
