The Venues Collection has launched its Future First Charter, a framework to shape and deliver the Group’s social purpose initiatives and targets.

The Charter is built around three key pillars:

  • People Pledge –  led by  Joanne Barratt (Managing Director) and Chris Steadman (Regional General Manager) – covering diversity and inclusion. Targets include: having ten apprentices or kickstart employees across the business, at least one mental health first aider at each venue, and a focus on increasing the diversity of the workforce by the end of 2021.
  • Food Focus – led by Group Sam Morgan (Head Chef) – focusing on the whole supply chain. Targets include: managing and reducing food waste, a total elimination of plastic straws, bottles and stirrers, and complete transparency of ingredients and food allergens.
  • Enriching Environments –  led by Lorraine Lockwood (Regional General Manager) – ensuring that the venues are an enriching place to work, meet, sleep and celebrate. Targets include: introducing walking and cycling routes around venues, wellbeing at work initiatives and local community support.

The Group will also be supporting the leading industry charity, Hospitality Action, whilst each of the venues has selected a local charity to support.

The Venues Collection will also be joining the the UN’s Race to Zero campaign.

Joanne Barratt (Managing Director, The Venues Collection) said: “Our charter will be integrated into everything we do with our teams and our clients and will give us a clear framework to work to and detailed targets to achieve.”
