Michael Ellis MP, the new minister whose portfolio covers the events industry, is set to meet members of a key events industry group.
Mr Ellis, who succeeds John Glen MP as Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Arts, Heritage and Tourism at the Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport will meet members of the Business Visits and Events Partnership later this month.
Discussions will focus on the opportunities for growth in Britain’s Events sector and the sector’s role as part of the Industrial Sector bid for tourism.
Michael Hirst OBE, Chair of the BVEP said: “We are delighted the Minister has agreed to meet so soon after his appointment last month. We will be highlighting the crucial role events play in delivering economic growth, through driving visitor numbers, generating trade, disseminating knowledge and research, improving productivity and showcasing Britain’s creative talents, as well talking through opportunities for further growth”.
