New programme of VisitScotland Regional Events Industry Engagement Workshops Announced for 2026/27

VisitScotland are pleased to be working with Local Authorities and other key industry partners to deliver a series of in-person Regional Event Industry Engagement Workshops across the country from October 2026 to March 2027.

These workshops provide an important opportunity for local industry representatives to hear updates from key sector partners, plus share good practice and feedback on their experience of event development and delivery in the area.

The workshops are being held on the following dates:

  • Aberdeen & Shire: Tuesday 27 October, Maritime Museum, Aberdeen
  • Edinburgh: Wednesday 11 November, City Chambers
  • Glasgow: Wednesday 25 November, Glasgow International Arena
  • Dundee: Wednesday 9 December, 14 City Square, Dundee

The purpose of the workshops is to:

  • Provide attendees with an update on progress against the strategic priority themes outlined in the national events strategy.
  • Provide attendees with an update on VisitScotland’s ongoing work with the events sector.
  • Provide an opportunity for attendees to discuss general views regarding event activity and challenges in the local area and beyond.
  • Provide an opportunity to profile local events that have a story to tell. This could be by highlighting best practice or innovation in areas such as environmental impact, community engagement or measuring and reporting.
  • Provide a relevant networking and relationship building opportunity for attendees.
  • Workshop attendees are intended to comprise all those from the local area who are actively engaged in the business, sporting and cultural events sector, including event organisers, suppliers, representatives from host venues and communities, police, and Local Authorities.

Torquil Macleod, Senior Manager – Industry Engagement and Development, said: ‘These workshops provide a important platform for collaboration and relationship-building across the sector, and provide a vital opportunity to raise awareness of the work of VisitScotland and the support that we offer.’

There is no charge to attend, but registration in advance is required.
