An investment banker who retrained as a tree surgeon is part of a new team unveiled this week at five-star events venue Dundas Castle, just outside Edinburgh.

Graeme Miller takes the role of External Maintenance Assistant after deciding he wanted a ‘career change’ following 13 years in finance.  He will help with the landscaping of the 1000-acre estate, which is close to Edinburgh Airport.

Molly Seed has also been appointed Marketing Manager, after building up experience as Marketing and Events Manager at Paxton House.

She will run all the marketing operations for Dundas Castle including social media channels, managing the website design, creating advertorial content and analysing sales and enquiries to the castle.

She said: “Dundas stands out for its excellence among wedding, corporate and private event venues in Scotland.  I am excited by the opportunities to grow the business and to remind people what a superb venue Dundas is, in terms of standards of service and hospitality. The team here is highly experienced and we welcome people from all over the world to visit our venue”.

Dundas Castle is also pleased to announce Sarah Lowther’s promotion to Assistant Head Housekeeper.

Sir Jack Stewart-Clark, owner of Dundas Castle, said: “We are looking forward to a successful 2018 and this will be helped by the expansion of our remarkable team. It’s great to see new faces on the estate, as well as old faces with well-deserved promotions.

“All of our team members go above and beyond in their positions at Dundas Castle, which is why we see success year after year in all our events, from corporate offerings, to family getaways, and to weddings”.

Dundas Castle is an 18th century home featuring turrets, impressive staircases, sumptuous bedrooms and roaring fires.  Popular for weddings and corporate getaways as well as family parties and group events, the Castle features its own 600-year-old keep, a private squash court and the spreading lawns and woods of the Estate.

The Castle also offers self-catering within its romantic getaway, the Boathouse, set on the shores of the loch.  Also close by are ten glamping units, fully equipped with ensuite showers, eco toilets, comfy beds and duvets, cooking facilities and wood burning stoves.  Ideal for couples or families, more details can be found at t
