ICE, the In-House Corporate Events community in collaboration with Cvent, a market-leading meetings, events, and hospitality technology provider has launched a series of surveys as part of the community’s annual benchmarking report.

The research and report will look specifically into event planning and measurable metrics across 10 industry sectors within the in-house corporate events industry including; Banking, Charity, Energy, Financial Services, Government Healthcare, IT & Telecoms, Legal, Manufacturing, Media and Retail/FMCG Other

The results of the research will be collated into ICE’s annual report, which will uncover further intelligence on topics including; the importance of metrics in event planning, experience versus budgets and current trends, as well as highlight the challenges that corporate event planners often face. The output of the report will provide valuable information that in-house event planners will be able to share with their internal stakeholders.

The project follows ICE’s wider strategy announcement earlier this year and supports its ambition to broaden communications within the corporate events sector, helping to empower corporate event planners to upwardly manage internal stakeholders.

The results will be unveiled at Cvent CONNECT Europe, 14th-16th October 2019 at the InterContinental London, O2.

“Demonstrating the strategic value of events to stakeholders has been always been an important issue for in-house corporate event teams across industries,” said Judy Elvey, Director of Marketing, Europe at Cvent.

“However, with event spend on the rise, there is even more pressure to prove a tangible return on investment. The findings of this research will not only identify the core challenges and issues the industry face, but crucially, will provide a range of recommendations and solutions so in-house teams are better equipped with the planning techniques and metrics they need to measure the true business impact of their events.”

“ICE is all about recognising, rewarding and inspiring the in-house corporate events sector and it’s important for us to be providing the education and support that can help the planners to understand their value as a creative within the wider events industry,” comments Anita Howard, Founder and Director of ICE Awards and ICE.

“And what better way to source credible knowledge than through the event planners themselves? We are excited to see the results and hope that this research will not only provide corporates with the knowledge and confidence to push back on stakeholders but also help them to demonstrate the massive contributions great effects bring to business.”

ICE has built a strong portfolio of clients over the last 5 years and is widely recognised for their work within the in-house corporate event planner industry. With a mission to give recognition to in-house planners through various educational and support programmes, ICE has established itself within the community as a leader to the corporate sector and an advocate for the in-house community.

“You’ll often hear us say ‘knowledge belongs to everyone’ and that’s central for us at ICE,” concluded Anita. “We think it’s really important we share knowledge as an industry, and that’s why we are working with market leaders like Cvent to produce these reports.”
