1599 at the Royal College has appointed Fiona Hainey as its new Business Development Manager.

Fiona moves into the role after several years as Conference & Events Manager at the Glasgow venue, where she has worked across a mix of conferences, corporate events, weddings, dinners and private celebrations.

Having spent much of that time working directly with clients and getting to know what they need from the venue, Fiona will now bring that experience to the business development side of 1599 at the Royal College.

Her new role will focus on bringing new business to the venue, developing relationships with clients and partners, and finding new opportunities for 1599 at the Royal College across Glasgow and further afield.

The move is a natural progression for Fiona, who already knows the venue, its spaces and its clients well.

Fiona said: “I’ve really enjoyed my time working with the events team at 1599, so I’m delighted to be moving into the Business Development Manager role.

“A big part of what I’ve enjoyed over the years has been getting to know our clients and seeing their events come together. I’m looking forward to building on those relationships, meeting new people and getting out there to show more people what we can offer at 1599.

Based within the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, 1599 at the Royal College hosts everything from conferences and business meetings to dinners, weddings and private events.
