Britain’s most northerly Racehorse Trainer Jackie Stephen Racing has confirmed support of the major family event to be held at the Castle on the 29th of June in aid of the charity – “Day at the Races” – but ‘with a twist’. Horses from this family-run professional racing stables will be providing a demonstration on the day and officially opening the race meeting where visitors won’t find the usual runners and riders.

Bring on the camels, cheer on the children on their beloved ponies and place your bets on which celebrity jockey you favour in the first ever ‘Celebrity Hobby Horse Grand National’, said organisers, featuring charity betting, food and paddock bars open all day. Ringside entertainments and frequent viewing of the Parade Ring are also on offer.

Local event company George Walker Event Management has teamed up with CHC Helicopter firm to bring this major summer event to Aberdeenshire for the very first time with fun, fur and frolics from the off.

George Walker OBE said: “I can’t thank everyone enough for jumping on board to support our fun race meeting. Friends are bringing lots of racing ponies and Patrick Stephen from Jackie Stephen Racing has even agreed to become our fun Tipster for the day! Patrick’s a well-known racing professional with years of experience… how well he’s studied the form of our racing camels however is anyone’s guess!”

The charity’s Chief Executive Graham Findlay said: “We are delighted to be working with George Walker Event Management to run this unique event for NESS. We support 6,500 Blind and Deaf people across the North East and we hope that this amazing day out will generate vital funds to support the wide range of services NESS provides.”

George is delighted to be organising yet another large-scale project in Aberdeenshire, having been responsible for the famous Emmerdale Extravaganza, Grampian Country Fair and Fyvie Live Concert to name but a few that have all helped him to raise over £2million for various great causes. North East Sensory Services is an amazing local charity operating with the main aim of achieving independence for blind and deaf people. Day at the Races will be in aid of this brilliant charity and George Walker Event Management are on board to support the charity for a year-long campaign to help raise awareness and funds.
