More than half of event organizers will increase the share of their digital revenue over the next
12 months, according to a new study.

Exclusive findings from the Event Tech Forecast 2023 by ExpoPlatform shows 55% of
respondents believe this component will grow, while 86% reckon it will remain the same.
It comes amid a huge return to live events over the last 12 months, with many organizers now

Conor Riordan, content editor at ExpoPlatform, said: “The events industry is going through a
digital renaissance, with participants in live shows now expecting their experiences to be fuelled
by technology.

These findings reveal that organizers too are seeing this as crucial to their business models as
a way to increase revenue, reach and improve offerings.

Our study highlights some of the challenges planners will face in getting to grips with this new
landscape, while also giving advice from an expert panel about how to make the most of any
opportunities.”

Findings also show 50% of respondents expect between 10 and 29% of annual revenue to
come from these channels – an increase of more than 10% compared with a previous study in
July.

Nurturing a community around event offerings was highlighted as one of the biggest
opportunities for eventprofs in 2023, with almost two thirds choosing it at 63%.

Digital monetization and proving exhibitor ROI both came out with 50% of respondents saying it
offered room for growth.

Meanwhile, creating a seamless experience across platforms was chosen as the biggest
challenge facing eventprofs – with 59% of respondents choosing it.

This was followed by good exhibitor ROI, integration between suppliers and a lack of skilled
resource – all at 55%.
