VisitScotland Business Events’ Theresa Steven and Heather McNee appointed to SITE Scotland leadership team

VisitScotland Business Events’ Business Development Manager – UK, Theresa Steven and Corporate & Incentive Assistant Manager, Heather McNee, have been appointed President Elect 2025 and Co-Communications Director respectively of global association SITE’s (Society for Incentive Travel Excellence) Scotland Chapter.

Founded in 1973, SITE is a professional association which represents more than 2,500 members located in 90 countries across the destination supply chain and travel sector. SITE offers networking opportunities, online resources, education, certification, and advocacy to its members. It also provides support to young professionals through its Young Leaders programme and holds an annual conference.

As part of her role as President Elect 2025 for SITE Scotland, Theresa Steven will shadow current President of SITE Scotland, Elizabeth Del Giacco, Senior Business Development Manager at Brook Green and support her in creating the Chapter’s upcoming annual strategic plan and budget.

Additionally, Theresa will participate in monthly Chapter Leader conference calls with SITE leadership globally, co-host members meetings and lead the chapter’s 2024 partnership with the homeless charity Cyrenians in organising fundraising events and initiatives amongst members.

Also joining the SITE Scotland leadership team is Corporate & Incentive Assistant Manager, Heather McNee who has assumed the position of Co-Communications Director of SITE Scotland.

In her role, McNee will manage all chapter communications, maintain an active presence on social media platforms to engage and promote membership activities as well as overseeing the maintenance and management of various communication tools, ensuring they are up-to-date and functioning smoothly.  

Current SITE Scotland President, Elizabeth Del Giacco said: “I am extremely proud of SITE Scotland and what we continue to achieve as a chapter. SITE is an important contributor to the incentive industry worldwide and it is an asset that we have two members from a national tourism organisation on our board. We have already had a positive start to 2024 with the success of our AGM and Awards events.  Our numbers are growing, and we are looking forward to a great year ahead.”  

Commenting on her appointment Theresa Steven, Business Development Manager – UK, VisitScotland Business Events said: “I am committed to advancing SITE Scotland’s mission with strategic leadership and collaboration and I’m also eager to foster growth, innovation and community engagement. I have learnt a lot from SITE Scotland’s current President, Elizabeth Del Giacco and I am looking forward to another year under her leadership before taking over the reigns as President in 2025”.
