At the recently concluded Scottish EDGE Round 20 awards ceremony that took place on December 7th 2022, Unbaggaged was announced as one of the returning winners taking home a cash prize of £40,000. The First Minister of Scotland, Nicola Sturgeon, gave a speech to open off the award night.
Founded in 2019 by Janani Prabhakaran after facing storing bags on her trip to London, the luggage storage industry craved a disruptive and innovative solution. Unbaggaged is the world’s first luggage concierge network connecting travellers wanting to be rid of bags with drivers who pick them up, store them at nearby storage points to return them where and when needed.
After a successful 2022, we stored more than 1000 bags and grew our team to 6 people. Unbaggaged was also featured in the Assembly Fest Guide, one of the largest venue providers for the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland. Regarding the next step for Unbaggaged, Janani Prabhakaran says “Now that we have gained traction and built the foundation of our business with previous Young Edge Awards, we are eyeing to expand in other cities to offer our service, with Glasgow being our next city.”
Currently operating in Edinburgh, Unbaggaged aims to expand to Glasgow in early 2023, empowering travelling to travel hands-free.
