Ayrshire Hospice raised £70,000 at its Summer Ball, the first event to be held in the new Donald J. Trump Ballroom at Turnberry. More than 400 guests enjoyed a surprise appearance from stars of BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, including Anton Du Beke, Aljaz Skorjanec and Janette Manrara.

“Raising over £70,000 is an outstanding achievement,” said Trump Turnberry’s general manager, Ralph Porciani. “It is going to a hugely worthwhile local cause that provides essential support to people in Ayrshire whose lives are affected by life-limiting illness.”

Mandy Yule, chief executive of the Ayrshire Hospice, added: “To be the first event to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the new ballroom at Turnberry was a real privilege and certainly provided our guests with an impressive ‘wow’ factor.

“A huge thanks to our hard working team of volunteers and our Summer Ball committee who all ensured the event ran smoothly and was such a resounding success. A wonderful setting, hugely generous guests and top notch entertainment – all in all made for a fantastic evening.”
