Workplace wellbeing organisation Stress Matters continues its mission to ‘improve employees’ lives’ by becoming a B Corporation.
The B Corp certification is gained through a diagnostic process that looks at five key impact areas of governance, workers, community, environment, and customers. Each applicant is required to reach a benchmark score of more than 80 while providing evidence of socially and environmentally responsible practices relating to energy supplies, waste and water use, worker compensation, diversity, and corporate transparency.
Stress Matters was able to complete this process and gain certification in eight months and joins Warwick Events and Exclusive Collection which are also event sector B Corporations.
“We have always driven home the organising principle of making workplace wellbeing easy. It shouldn’t be a chore and it shouldn’t be ignored. As a business that does impact the health of an individual, I’ve always wanted us to achieve official recognition of well-respected organisations such as Mental Health First Aid England, the International Stress Management Association and now I’m overjoyed that we can add B Lab to this too,” Stress Matters founder, Laura Capell-Abra said.
Within the events industry, Stress Matters’ clients include IMEX, Resident Hotels, The British Academy, Chorus and Interstate Hotels. Outside of events, Stress Matters works with Adobe, Crossword Security, Chillys Bottles and Sytner.
“Welcoming Stress Matters is an exciting moment because they have an opportunity to lead the way within the workplace wellbeing industry,” B Lab UK, executive director Chris Turner said. “We and the rest of the B Corp community are really pleased to support Stress Matters in paving the way for a new way of doing things.”
