Sodexo Sports & Leisure, leading catering and events specialists, have promoted David Trotter to Divisional Director. This newly created role will see David responsible for the strategic delivery of business in Scotland, Northern Ireland and The Open, as well as sitting on the leadership team for UK&I.
David has been with Sodexo for eight years, his previous role was an Account Director overseeing stadia and racecourses in Scotland, as well as Northern Ireland.
During this time, he was involved in the successful bid and delivery of the Commonwealth Games at Hampden Park, as well as securing new contracts for the business with The National Football Stadium at Windsor Park in Belfast and both Dundee football clubs.
Prior to that he was Catering and Services Director at Hampden Park where he was responsible for the growth and delivery of the hospitality operation, retail conference and banqueting and concert facilities at the national stadium.
Commenting on the new role in Scotland, Chris Bray, Managing Director for Sodexo Sports & Leisure said: “We are extremely pleased that David has taken on the challenge and the opportunity to drive forward the business in Scotland. He has gained very strong experience in stadia and racecourses throughout his career and we are excited about the future and the contribution he can bring to our ambitious business plans over the next few years.”
David also believes this is an exciting time: “I am passionate about the industry and have been able to grow and develop within Sodexo over the past eight years. There have been lots of learnings along the way with some significant successes too. This is an interesting new role, which will enable me to support the entire team in Scotland and further grow our brand presence in the marketplace.”
