
Scotland House, a new London hub to promote Scottish business and enterprise is set to play a key part in winning business for Scotland from London and the South East.
Scotland House at 58 Victoria Embankment will provide a central London base for some members of the VisitScotland Business Events team as well as the wider ‘Team Scotland’, including VisitScotland, the Scottish Government, Scottish Enterprise, Highlands and Islands Enterprise and Scottish Development International. It is opening now as part of the Scottish government’s new collaborative approach to promoting Scotland. Similar enterprises have already opened or will open imminently in Dublin, Brussels and Berlin.
Scotland House will provide a platform to celebrate and showcase Scotland’s ambitious companies, world-class sectors and impressive research and innovation capabilities.
It will also offer a membership model for Scottish-based businesses so they can utilise the shared working space on offer at Scotland House. Aimed primarily at the small business sector, Scotland House will be available to its members so they can host meetings and events in a contemporary setting.
During 2016, 17, 54% of UK enquiries to the VisitScotland Business Events team came from London & South England. Mihri Miralem, Market Manager for London & South England at VisitScotland Business Events, who is based at Scotland House, is responsible for the implementation of sales activity to grow meeting and incentive business from this market, focussing on corporates clients, conference organisers, meeting planners and agencies.
