Wavehill Social & Economic Research have been commissioned by VisitScotland, in partnership with Scotland’s Event Industry Advisory Group (EIAG), to carry out research into the contribution of events to the health and wellbeing of the people of Scotland.  Wavehill are currently gathering relevant evidence/literature and are seeking input from a diverse range of stakeholders across the sector. If you could help with this project, please visit their website for more info: https://www.wavehill.com/events-health-wellbeing  Deadline for submissions is Monday 5th April.

The Events Industry Advisory Group (EIAG) was convened by the Scottish Government to aid post-COVID-19 recovery efforts for the event sector. The Health & Wellbeing Economy workstream is established as one of the Group’s priority interests and is led by Dr Bridget McConnell CBE, Chief Executive of Glasgow Life.  The economic benefits of sporting and cultural events are widely recognised, with mechanisms for measurement well established. The Health & Wellbeing Economy Workstream seeks to understand and demonstrate how events do (and could increasingly) contribute to Scotland’s wellbeing, also to identify a practical framework of measures to evidence that contribution.  The findings will be used to build a broader understanding of the contribution of events to Scotland’s wellbeing and help make the case for continued investment in events which generate positive wellbeing outcomes.
