Aberdeen’s state-of-the-art live event venue, P&J Live, has today announced it will host the 20th UK Stroke Forum Conference on 25th – 27th November 2025 – the flagship event of the UK Stroke Association.
The event is the UK’s largest multidisciplinary conference for stroke care professionals and researchers and aims to provide opportunities for all to come together, share ideas during ground-breaking parallel sessions and training workshops, and discover new innovations within the exhibition area to ultimately improve standards of care for stroke survivors.
Attracting around 2,000 delegates, the conference will also encompass a strong public engagement programme, signposting advice and assistance for stroke carers and survivors in the local community.
Steve Daun, Head of Association Sales for ASM Global, said: “I’m delighted for P&J Live to host the UK Stroke Forum in 2025, as it’s the first time the event has been held in Aberdeen. Our working partnership with NHS Grampian and the University of Aberdeen has helped us to identify local champions who were instrumental in showcasing the research locally in this field. This then helped the organisers understand why Aberdeen was the perfect fit for the 2025 conference. The venue’s sustainability credentials will play a key role in supporting the associations green objectives, while its in-house team of experts will deliver a first-class event for the association next year.”
Laura Wilson, Head of Aberdeen Convention Bureau, said: “The region is internationally renowned in stroke research and rehabilitation, and the confirmed UK Stoke Forum will attract up to 2,000 attendees, bringing almost £900,000 in delegate spend to the region, as well as community outreach events for stroke survivors and carers. Aberdeen Convention Bureau works closely with venue partners and academics to bring business events to the city, and to assist event organisers in achieving their legacy ambitions.”
Thérèse Lebedis OBE, Consultant AHP (Occupational Therapist) in stroke, NHS Grampian, said: “We are delighted that the 20th UK Stroke Forum is coming to Aberdeen next year. This is a great opportunity for NHS Grampian and the University of Aberdeen to showcase our research, progress in clinical practice and innovative service delivery to a global audience. We are a region full of castles, whisky distilleries and outdoor activities – all of which bring people to the region from all over the world. I look forward to welcoming colleagues to the forum in Aberdeen in 2025.”
Juliet Bouverie, Chief Executive Officer at the Stroke Association said: “We are delighted that we are able to bring our flagship event to Aberdeen in 2025. As a UK charity, it’s vital that we bring more of these events to our devolved nations and Aberdeen, which is home to one of the largest healthcare sites in Europe, in the Royal Infirmary, is the perfect place to host our delegates.
“We want to thank the team at P&J Live for their hard work and dedication in bringing the UK Stroke Forum to their amazing venue. As an organisation, we are committed to our own sustainability plans, so being able to use the UK’s most sustainable venue, to host such a major event in the stroke connected calendar, makes perfect sense”.
