Famous Scots chef, Nick Nairn has announced the line-up for the 2024 Foodie Festival, taking place on Saturday, August 17, and Sunday, August 18, at Port of Menteith. Following the success of the first Food Festival in 2019, this year’s event promises another unforgettable weekend that celebrates the finest in food, local producers and community spirit.
The family-friendly festival will feature cooking demonstrations at the newly revamped Nick Nairn Cook School. Nick will be joined for chef demos throughout the weekend with the likes of Tom Lewis of Mhor. Guests will also be the first to hear about the launch of the Autumn and Winter Cook School timetable and the events scheduled for the rest of the year.
Visitors can explore stands from various small producers, including Mhor Bread, Angels Dare Cocktails, Leckie Farm Eggs, Greenpea Studio, Good Life Farming, Milk & Honey Ice Cream, Allan’s Chilli’s, Fodder & Farm, and Nick’s own gin and polytunnel plant stand.
The festival will also feature an alfresco seafood bar with smoked and roasted meats from the Traeger grill, prepared by Andy Turnbull, Head Chef at Nairns Bridge of Allan, and Nick Parkes.
Whilst exploring the finest local offerings, guests will be serenaded from live music from DJ Coops. Additionally, there will also be exclusive discounts, such as 10% off Home by Julia Nairn.
Nick’s at Port of Menteith is a dining venue with 40 indoor seats and 100 outdoor seats under tents and pergolas. It has a family-friendly garden with raised beds and views of open fields. The interior, redesigned by Julia with local designer Iona Crawford, is cosy and welcoming. There’s also a lifestyle store selling cookware, tableware, local crafts, honey, beer, and Nick’s gin. The design and shop reflect Nick and Julia’s passion for gardening. Port of Menteith is also home to Nick Nairn’s Cook School, which has recently been refurbished.
Tables are available on a first-come, first-served basis throughout both days. Regular a la carte dining service and booking will resume at 6:00 PM on Saturday, August 17th.
