Nearly 50,000 tickets have been sold for the first-ever ‘GlasGlow’ Halloween event conceived by the founder of the online discount bookings site Itison.
Oli Norman, founder of the daily deals and event website, which provides hotels, restaurants and retail offers, lives in the West End of Glasgow and came up with the idea of organising a spooky light show in the city.
Billed as ‘Stranger Things meets Game of Thrones in a beautiful Glasgow garden’, a series of events are taking place during Halloween season – 27th October to 11th November – at the Botanic Gardens.
The entrepreneur invested £500,000 in the what is being described as a ‘world-class, outdoor sound and lighting event’, and which has clearly appealed to the Millennials market, having marketed itself as an event for ‘instagrammers who want to get some seriously impressive pictures’.
“I’ve had the idea for GlasGLOW for over a decade and it’s now time to bring it to life,” said Norman “We’ve assembled a world-class lighting and technical team to bring a vision to life that will mesmerise adults and kids alike. Imagine Stranger Things met Game of Thrones in a beautiful Glasgow garden – it’s going to be pretty fantastical.”
Norman, who has a PR and events management background, runs his business from plush offices in the Merchant City, and has interior design quirks such as a hot air balloon suspended above desks.
The company says: “This Halloween season, itison invites you to wander into another realm where dragons live on and worlds of light, sound and magic wait to be discovered. Over a decade in the making, the iconic Botanic Gardens will be transformed with an immersive landscape of light, sound and fantasy by the imaginations behind the country’s biggest sound and light events and itison Drive-In Movies.”
Step into the light with your friends and family and experience the most epic event this Halloween season. Check out the full details at GlasGLOW.
