Conference and Events Manager – EICC (Levy UK)
What you’ll be doing:
The EICC is situated at the heart of Scotland’s beautIful capital city. The EICC is one of the worlds outstanding venues for conferences and events.
The successful operation of the EICC can be attributed to the excellent team work throughout the organisation. This is particularly visible in the strong ties between the EICC team and our in-house business partner Leith’s forming the ‘One EICC Team’.

As our Conference and Events Manager you will oversee, control and operationally deliver a variety of events; ensuring that the very highest levels of customer satisfaction are always maintained whilst managing the business needs and performance standards.
You will assist in ensuring Leith’s are at the cutting edge of food and beverage delivery within Scotland. You must be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills & the ability to develop individuals. This role requires you to be flexible in dealing with work demands & changing priorities, be proactive and able to work under pressure.
More about the role:
- Create and build client relationships in order to deliver the customer experience and to ensure the continual development of the partnership
- Support the Leith’s Event Planners in the achievement of sales revenue and targets for the location, as well as optimisation of profitability and efficiency
- Coordinate with the Operational Team to ensure the day-to-day delivery of catering services always achieve the highest level of customer experience
- Support the other EICC departments in communicating and delivering operational requirements
- Manage the performance of any casual workforce
- Support the implementation and monitoring of all company marketing initiatives
- Ability to manage large scale events or multiple events within the building. Events ranging from Conferences, receptions and high-profile dinners to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and public sporting events
- Manage all stages of the catering provision process including food and beverage, and production and service, ensuring that standards are in place at each stage and are monitored and delivered with exceptions reportable
- Manage the procurement function for disposable goods, crockery, cutlery, glassware, linen, uniform and small equipment, ensuring that service standards can always be met and effective control maintained
- Have knowledge of all unit/location products and be able to advise the customer in a professional, helpful manner

Who you are: - Computer literacy is essential
- Able to work alone and part of a team
- Communication skills
- Experience in operating large events (circa 300) is essential when applying for this position
- Utilise effective diary management skills which will enable timely follow up of enquiries and completion of client contracts in line with SOPs
- Ability to acquire and maintain relationships with clients and colleagues
