The International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) is calling for candidates interested in standing for election for vacancies on its Board of Directors. Elections will take place at the ICCA General Assembly 2021.
Due to ongoing Covid-19 restrictions, the General Assembly, on 11 October 2021, will be held digitally and will be accessible for all members via live online access.
The deadline for candidates to come forward will be 10 August 2021, 5pm CET.
The vacancies are as follows:
Sectors
Destination marketing
- Alexey Kalachev comes to the end of his two-year elected term and can stand for re-election.
Meetings Support
- Jaap Bakker comes to the end of his two-year elected term and can stand for re-election.
Geographical representatives
Latin America
- Diana Rodriquez has been appointed by the board of directors for a limited period and can stand for election.
North America
- Glenn Duncan comes to the end of his two-year elected term and can stand for re-election.
Middle East
- Mubarak Al Shamisi comes to the end of his two-year elected term and can stand for re-election.
Nominations for sector representation
Candidates who intend to stand for election or re-election for the Sector vacancies should be the primary contact of the member organisation which have paid the current year’s membership fees.
They should inform ICCA Head Office via governance@iccaworld.org that they wish to stand for election or re-election, together with a supporting letter from their company. They should be duly nominated and seconded in writing by two members of the Sector they represent, who are the primary contact for the member organisation which is in financial good standing with ICCA.
Nominations for geographical representation
Candidates who intend to stand for election for the following geographical regions on the ICCA Board: North America, Middle East and Latin America, should be the primary contact of the member organisation based in that specific region. Their organisation should be members in good financial standing with ICCA (the current year’s membership fee should have been paid).
They should inform ICCA Head Office of their intention to stand as the Geographical Representative via governance@iccaworld.org, together with a support letter from their company. They should be duly nominated and seconded in writing by any member in any Sector based in their specific region who are the primary contact for the member organisation, who is in financial good standing with ICCA. This must be received at ICCA Head Office no later than Tuesday 10 August 2021, 5pm CET.
A list of candidates with their nominator and seconder will be published on the ICCA website by 1 September 2021.
