The NHS owned Golden Jubilee Conference Hotel re-opened its doors to all clients and guests on 1 July 2021. Having been focused on COVID related priorities since the beginning of the pandemic, Scotland’s Conference Hotel of the Year 2020 is ready to resume providing its award winning facilities.
With a commitment to delivering safe events, the 4-star Hotel has remodelled all of its 15 meeting spaces to support physical distancing and rigorous hygiene regimes. Recognising that the events world will be a very different place post pandemic, the Hotel has transformed its technology infrastructure to fully deliver excellent virtual, hybrid and traditional face to face meetings and learning experiences as well as redesigning guest bedrooms to provide a safe and enjoyable stay.
Bronagh Bell (Hotel Director, who has worked across the events sector for more than 20 years) said: “We have had to re-engineer every aspect of event delivery from our food service to how we manage delegate flow to make sure every step is safe for clients.
“There has been a seismic change in every aspect. Adaptation was the only option to safely welcome back our clients and to meet their very different requirements including providing virtual or hybrid options, even as a back-up plan.
“Since March 2020 our Hotel team was redeployed across NHS Scotland with many of them, including the chefs, food and beverage assistants, and event planners taking on new essential roles at both NHS Louisa Jordan and the Golden Jubilee National Hospital.
“Now everyone is back in the Hotel and we have been delivering safe events for the NHS and other healthcare clients for a few weeks. All our procedures are working effectively.
Bronagh added: “We need to keep adapting and refining our services to meet the needs of our conference clients and that means learning to meet effectively as well as safely in this new landscape. Whilst technology has opened up many great options it is still hard to beat ‘in person’ events for the informal sharing of information and to build relationships. Understanding our clients objectives and how we can work with them to deliver a great event will be key, whether its face to face, virtual or hybrid”
Laura Malley (Business Development Manager) said:“This will allow us to continue to provide the same high quality and safe event service to all our clients from across both the public and private sector.
“We have noticed a demand already for training experiences that need to take place in person and luckily at the Golden Jubilee we have large flat floor spaces that can support reduced physical distancing requirements.
“We are also encouraging clients to take advantage of our generous outdoor space for walk and talk meetings or break out groups.”
The Hotel is open from Thursday 1 July to all. To find out more, call 0141 951 6003 or visit www.goldenjubileehotel.com
