BestCities Global Alliance, the world’s leading network of premier meeting destinations, have extended its management contract with GainingEdge following a competitive bidding process.
GainingEdge, a global leader specializing in providing advice to the conventions and meetings industry, has been managing the alliance since 2009, and have won the three-year contract to continue.
The renewed contract comes as BestCities seeks to grow its reputation in helping international associations and destinations build legacies and expand its global footprint through partnerships and knowledge creation. With a vision of harnessing the power of collaboration and community to create positive impact through business events, BestCities requires a management company committed to this ambition.
Corne Koch, Chair of BestCities Global Alliance, said: “The purpose of tendering the BestCities management contract was to identify the company that could complement and further advance the work of the alliance – who will support us as we continue to evolve our strategic plan and brand.
“This was a competitive bidding situation, but after extensive consideration, GainingEdge came out on top as the best fit with the alliance’s ambitions.”
Jon Sivertson, CEO of GainingEdge, said: “BestCities is the most prestigious alliance in the industry, and we’re delighted to be continuing our long-standing relationship. Working together will allow us to leverage this intimate understanding into innovative solutions for the alliance.
The reach of our combined global community and open knowledge exchange will ensure GainingEdge and BestCities flourish from this arrangement.”
The contract renewal comes at an exciting time for BestCities, as the alliance prepares for its fourth annual BestCities Global Forum, taking place December 8-11 in Copenhagen. For more information go to www.bestcities.net.
