The University’s award-winning Conferencing & Events team is responsible for the delivery of University corporate events and hospitality, including Degree Congregations, as well as the promotion and operation of the Technology and Innovation Centre, Strathclyde’s flagship events venue.

The Events Assistant plays a key role in the delivery of all aspects of the University’s corporate events programme, with duties including but not limited to:

• pre-event research
• putting in place a framework for event delivery and the organisation of related logistics
• liaising with, and offering advice to, the event organiser
• monitoring of expenditure on event budgets
• co-ordination of bookings and attendee enquiries
• supporting event delivery on the day
• post-event evaluation and data management
• supporting and offering operational advice to the Events Manager

Events may take place in person (both on and off campus), online or hybrid, and the post holder should feel equally comfortable working across all environments.

This post is essential to the effective operation and ongoing development of a first-class event experience at the University, and will appeal to a motivated, enthusiastic individual with an eye for detail, a calm and professional demeanour, experience within a conferencing or events environment and a flexible approach to their work.
