Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) has opened a large scale food bank at its city centre venue on World Kindness Day, with Scotland’s leading conference venue bringing together Conference Partners, Sheraton Grand, Edinburgh Castle, Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh, Hampton by Hilton, Point A Hotel, The Glasshouse and Holiday Inn Edinburgh to mark the launch.
For the 2nd year in a row, the EICC is partnering with Edinburgh Food Project, part of the Trussell Trust network of food banks providing emergency food parcels to people who are living in food poverty. The moveable food bank collection units at the EICC will see the venue become one of the city’s main food donation points and they will be in place until 6th December 2019.
Marshall Dallas, Chief Executive of EICC said: “We think it’s important Edinburgh’s tourism and business events sector gives back to the local community, particularly at this time of the year which can be difficult for so many people. So, it was great to be joined by some of our city partners at EICC today. What has also been noteworthy is the generosity of our delegates and associates on our launch day which gives us great confidence about what can be achieve over the next few weeks.”
