Introduction

Fully engaged delegates stay around longer and, ultimately, turn into advocates for your brand – if you treat them right.

The focus is to turn away from short-lived marketing campaigns toward building ongoing relationships with delegates to boost interaction, create meaningful experiences and (as a result) drive revenue.

In order to create a remarkable delegate experience and reach the business goals of the 2021 Union World Conference on Lung Health, a role has been identified for a Delegate Sales and Marketing Co-ordinator.

The Organisation

The Union was founded in 1920 and is the world’s first global health organisation, focused on tuberculosis. Tuberculosis is the world’s leading infectious-disease killer. It kills more people every year than malaria, more people than HIV. In 2016, an estimated 1.7 million people died from TB; 239,000 were children.

The founders of The Union, representatives of 31 countries, recognized that a global health crisis – tuberculosis (TB) – could not be defeated without international collaboration and knowledge sharing. One hundred years later, as the world struggles to confront a new infectious respiratory disease – COVID-19 – our founders’ vision: Know. Share. Act. remains as relevant as ever.

The Union is a global scientific organisation, and we are working to improve lung health for people in low- and middle-income countries. We do this by conducting scientific research, working with governments and other agencies to translate research into better health for people around the world, and delivering projects directly in the field, driving change to ensure the best quality care.

The Union’s members, staff and consultants operate in more than 150 countries and embody our core values of accountability, independence, quality and solidarity.

The Union has been organising conferences around the world on tuberculosis and related issues for over a hundred years. The Union World Conference on Lung Health is the world’s largest gathering of clinicians and public health workers, health programme managers, policymakers, researchers and advocates working to end the suffering caused by lung disease, with a focus specifically on the challenges faced by low-and lower-middle income populations. In 2020, due to COVID-19, the 51st Union World Conference on Lung Health was held in a virtual format for the first time. The 52nd Union Conference will be fully virtual again.
