The E Awards, Scotland’s only dedicated awards for events and festivals, returned on Thursday 25 April, showcasing the strength of the Scottish events sector.

Winners included 1599 at the Royal College, the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships, Arnold Clark, the Edinburgh International Conference Centre and the Golden Jubilee Conference Hotel.

Held at the O2 Academy in Edinburgh, the 2024 E Awards were a celebration of the excellence of the Scottish events industry, with over 180 people in attendance.

The E Awards entries were assessed by an independent panel of the industry’s leading figures who have helped shape the sector through their influence and expertise. The judges included Stuart Turner, Director of Purple Moon, Laura Schwartz, keynote speaker, author and former White House Director of Events, and Emma Little, Founder of ExecSpace & ExecMove.

Tough criteria and a commitment to rewarding excellence meant that the judging panel only shortlisted they very best entries, even if that meant a single shortlisted entry in a category.

Every winner showcased outstanding excellence and creativity, distinguishing themselves from their peers to secure one of these esteemed and sought-after awards.

Judith Wilson, Events Director of EVENTIT said: “It’s a real honour to host this event and celebrate the hard work, talent and creativity of our thriving Scottish events and festivals sector. The evening also provides one of those rare opportunities for us to kick back with our industry colleagues!”

Kimberley Baran, Communications Lead – Events & Community at Arnold Clark said: “We are delighted to be recognised at this year’s E Awards. We were up against some of the best events and organisations in the country, so to walk away with two awards is an amazing achievement.
“We are so happy for our colleague Erin Hawthorne to be awarded Rising Star of the Year too. Erin is celebrating her tenth year with Arnold Clark, the award is truly earned and deserved.”

Angela Wilson, Regional Director at Field and Lawn said: “To say we are delighted is an understatement! Field and Lawn are incredibly proud to have been named as the best outdoor supplier at the E Awards. It was a wonderful night to celebrate the very best of Scotland’s live event industry. We enjoyed the event and as a carbon neutral company it was good to see the sustainable ethos of the awards.

Thank you to EVENTIT, we can’t wait to be part of it again next year.”

Event sponsors included hosts the O2 Academy, Saltire Hospitality, Newsquest Events Scotland, Eventsforce and 360 Event Hire.

The night also celebrated literature as the theme of the event, with a book-themed menu from Saltire Hospitality The Secret Garden plant-based main course and The Gruffalo themed desserts. The Jungle Book themed starters were provided by Boom Scran Street Food.

Saltire Hospitality is committed to using fresh local ingredients to provide a five-star catering experience to all their customers in a range of different types of events. Saltire Hospitality has sustainability at the heart of its business, even down to using a menu made out of seed paper that guests could plant after the event.
