BAFTA award-winning journalist Lucy Meacock will moderate the Meeting Industry Association’s (MIA) annual miaSummit, when it takes place in Liverpool next month.

Best known for her work in the North West of England as a main anchor of the ITV regional news programme Granada Reports, the broadcaster will complete the stellar line up of experts who are set to inspire leaders and future leaders through a series of topical discussions.

Areas to be covered throughout the day include an opening keynote by leading AI strategist and consultant Katie King revealing how the technology can revolutionise a variety of areas of the industry, before behavioural scientist Lea Karam leads a thought-provoking session on how human complexities can drive healthier commercial and people outcomes.

In his Evolution of Food Service presentation, futurist Simon Stenning will reveal the latest intel on food and beverage while Professor Paul McGee will lead a motivational session to help attendees achieve better results in work and life.

The carefully curated programme will also include a panel discussion on the Workforce of the Future exploring the changing dynamics of the workplace before the day is brought to a close examining the balancing act of responsible sustainable event planning.

MIA chief executive, Kerrin MacPhie, said: “The miaSummit is our flagship annual conference with a pedigree stretching back more than a decade. As such it deserves somebody of Lucy’s gravitas at the helm expertly moderating and bringing the day together as we ensure everyone, no matter which stage they are in their career, comes away with powerful knowledge and insight as well as tangible solutions.

The miaSummit 2024 runs from 9am to 4.30pm and will precede the miaList awards ceremony which will also be held at Hilton Liverpool City Centre on the evening of 7 November.
