The Association of British Professional Conference Organisers (ABPCO) is expecting record numbers next month as the association’s Annual Chairmen’s Lunch and Excellence Awards arrives in Glasgow’s Scottish Event Campus (SEC) for the first time.
The awards continue their tour around the UK following last year’s event in Harrogate, which also saw record numbers attending the two-day event. The transient nature of the awards means ABPCO members around the UK can see the event arrive locally to them, and the delegation is growing as the event continues to visit new association destinations.
This year the Chairmen’s Lunch & Excellence Awards will take place at the SEC and take advantage of the growing campus environment at the venue. While the event will take place within the venue’s Lomond Auditorium, ABPCO members will also visit the new Clydeside Distillery based a short walk from the SEC, the recently launched SEC Meeting Academy, within the venue, and the newly launched Radisson Red, joining the increasing hotel presence on campus.
“While the lunch and awards are a celebration for ABPCO, we’re also keen to see new things and give our members the chance to have a real taste of the destination and venue we visit,” said Heather Lishman, Association Director, ABPCO. “There has been so much going on at the SEC campus, and we’ve got a great opportunity to explore all that is new in the venue and the city.”
