More cheese, Gromit? Aberdeen’s TECA gets set to host tribute to Nick Park duo at Cheese Fest UK

The UK’s biggest touring cheese festival, Cheese Fest UK, is returning to Aberdeen later this year.

The popular event will take place at the North East’s brand new event venue, The Event Complex Aberdeen (TECA), on Saturday 19 October 2019.

Ashley Ramian of Cheese Fest UK said “We’re really excited to be taking the festival back to Aberdeen, and especially to brand new TECA. The festival continues to grow every year and we have struck an incredible partnership with Aardman Animations, to celebrate 30 cracking years of Wallace and Gromit, in 2019. This Promises to be another ‘Grand day out’ for all the family to enjoy.”

Those attending can expect another fun-packed event from Cheese Fest UK, with the chance to sample some of the greatest cheeses in the world, including melted raclette, gooey mozzarella sticks and a whole host of other ‘cheese-tastic’ delights from the UK’s best cheese traders, with many traditional favourites and new additions.

This year, Cheese Fest is delighted to be celebrating Wallace and Gromit’s 30th anniversary as part of the festival. This means even more for those attending to get involved in, such as model-making with Aardman Animations, live action vehicles, film screenings and even a meet and greet with the animated duo, created by Nick Park.

The event also features live music, cookery demonstrations from celebrity chef Sean Wilson and an artisan cheese market.

Louise Stewart, Head of Exhibitions at TECA, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Cheese Fest UK back to Aberdeen, especially to our brand new venue, TECA.  With 48,000 sq.m of brand new, flexible event space at TECA, we’ve already been able to announce some great consumer exhibitions and events, and delighted we can offer one for all the cheese lovers in the North East.”
