Edinburgh events firm 20/20 Productions hosted a series of events for Standard Life Investments during the recent British Lions rugby tour of New Zealand.

The creative communications agency supported the sponsor for two major internal communications events  including an ‘all access’ studio set up for the post squad announcement debate featuring rugby legends Martin Johnson, Paul O’Connell, Shane Williams, Gavin Hastings and Alex Payne.

The studio set up allowed organisers to utilise a ‘multiple camera shoot approach to the event, which included live streaming to screens around the venue’, said the firm in a statement.

This was followed by a family event for Standard Life Investment employees, held at Goldenacre Rugby Club in Edinburgh. The occasion included large screen streaming of the British & Irish Lions v New Zealand rugby game, children’s activities of mini rugby tournaments, face painting, balloon modelling and BBQ.

An appearance from former England rugby captain Martin Johnson was a surprise for guests, who gave a mid-match analysis, took part in a Q&A session and spent time with the children out on the pitches giving pointers for throwing and kicking.

Alastair Scott, the MD of 20/20 Productions, said: “From full technical support to inflatable goal posts, we embraced the challenge to create a fully branded, fun and memorable day for the families of Standard Life Investment.”

The Edinburgh-based agency has worked with Standard Life Investments for seven years and has delivered many employee engagement and external stakeholder events for the international investment company.

Scott added: “Working with such dynamic events and marketing teams at Standard Life Investments has allowed us to create and apply a progressive approach to their communications marketing strategy. This latest series of events has been a pleasure to work on once again.”
