The £1bn trade show: The Scottish Homebuilding & Renovating Show prepares to come to Glasgow

The Scottish Homebuilding & Renovating Show, Scotland’s largest consumer exhibition for self-builders, home renovators and improvers, is back at the SEC Glasgow on June 16 & 17 2018.

More than 9,000 visitors attended in 2017, an increase of 12 per cent on the previous year, and a survey showed they had an average of £101,000 to spend over 12 months in a market that is potentially worth up to £1bn. Organisers are expecting an even bigger influx of people for this year’s event, at the SEC in Glasgow, which is proving increasingly popular with ordinary people interested in adding architectural flair to their home extensions, renovations and self-builds.

Already, over 67 per cent of the show’s stand capacity has been snapped up by exhibitors; organisers say the show will be ‘brimming with bright ideas, the latest products and services and free advice from a wide range of experts. For small renovations to complete self-builds, the Scottish Homebuilding & Renovating Show is the place to pick up tools, tips and inspiration from the brightest and best experts in the business.’

Nick Noble, commercial & events director at Future PLC, said: “Our growth in visitor figures in Scotland has driven additional trade attention towards the opportunity we’re providing.   Through our shows we’re connecting the appetite from consumers who see their homes as their number one asset, with a highly-targeted exhibitor database.

“Not only do we offer visitors access to products and services that are not available elsewhere, they can obtain free advice from a range of experts, invaluable when undertaking a substantial project.

“Our visitors, with their combination of live projects and substantial budgets, provides trade exhibitors with the opportunity to open new commercial streams and significant ROI.”
