A team-building company has secured new premises as part of ambitious expansion plans following the “most significant year in its history”.

Team Challenge Company will move from its home in Dunfermline to a site three times its current size in Lochgelly, Fife, covering 16,300 square feet.

The firm – recently named a global partner of international team-building organisation Catalyst Global – made the announcement as it forecast a 25% hike in profits this financial year.

The deal was the biggest of its kind for the business and gives it the ‘exclusive rights to sell and distribute all 174 award-winning Catalyst Global products in Scotland, as well as rights to the English market’.

Team Challenge Company has been able to step up its use of ‘gamification’, with challenges such as ‘Peak Performance’, an interactive tablet-based game which requires teams to guide each other up Mount Everest, becoming increasingly popular.

The company – which is forecasting delivering 450 corporate events in 2018 – is also reporting a 15% uplift in new inquiries since signing the deal (with 8% coming from overseas). New clients include King Digital, a multi-national interactive entertainment company responsible for designing the popular game Candy Crush, sustainable technology developers Johnson Matthey and accounting firm RSM. The company is targeting the pharmaceutical and technology sectors after establising a foothold in the financial, retail, oil and gas sectors, as well as working with major international businesses such BP, KPMG and Standard Life Investments.

Gerard Crowley, co-director at Team Challenge Company, said; “It is very exciting to witness the progress of the business and to recognise the opportunities that lie ahead. Over the next year, our goal is to increase the size of events that we deliver whilst still maintaining the very personal service that we offer to our clients.

“The new premises are fantastic, and will allow us to work more efficiently as the team will have more space to plan and develop events. They will also allow us to purchase and store larger equipment for events such as climbing walls, segways and bungee trampolines as well as increasing our stock of Catalyst Global team building equipment. It has been a very successful year for the business and I am confident we will be able to build upon these achievements in the coming months.”
