Industry partners gear up for ‘immersive’ sessions at inaugural What’s Trending in Events at Dynamic Earth

Sixteen industry partners will deliver a series of high-end ‘immersive’ events sessions at the first-ever What’s Trending in Events training day next Wednesday at Edinburgh’s Dynamic Earth.

Hot topics for 2019 include event technology, theming, wellbeing and communications, and the inaugural event in the capital will allow Scottish and UK events professionals to ‘meet the experts’ and fill their contacts books and knowledge gaps for the year ahead.

In the technology stream at the full-day industry showcase four cutting edge companies will showcase how blockchain, facial recognition, Virtual Reality (VR) and Online Systems are disrupting the old (and inefficient) ways of registering and interacting with delegates before, during and after events.

In the communications stream, attendees will hear how to maximise their use of video content, manage audience response and get the latest branding and marketing tips.

For those wanting to keep up with how wellbeing is increasingly being incorporated into events, there are four lively sessions on sustainability, mindfulness, teambuilding and nutrition.

And the power of event theming to engage delegates in novel ways will be demonstrated by leading suppliers who will deliver talks on catering, theming, the ‘wow factor’ and designing the right format for events.

Judith Wilson, EventIt director, who has developed the What’s Trending concept, said: “I believe this is genuinely the first time an event like this for industry professionals who deliver events of all shapes, sizes and profiles has ever been hosted in Scotland. We have worked really hard to find innovative suppliers who are working across the whole spectrum of events management in order to showcase new, exciting and disruptive ways of delivering events.

“We have scoured the length and breadth of the UK and Europe to find solutions providers who are at the forefront of events management thinking and bringing both that expertise – as well as our local supplier base – together to for a melting pot of events practitioners is something I think is really exciting and new for the Scottish market.”

She added: “We also have three international keynotes who will provide inspiring and insightful talks on the latest developments in the industry, from event trends, to audience research and the customer journey. I’m delighted to welcome Kim Myhre, Managing Director, MCI Experience; Linda Pereira, Executive Director, CPL Meetings & Events, Lisbon and Rob Davidson, Managing Director, MICE Knowledge to the event.”
