ICCA – (International Congress and Convention Association) – UK & Ireland Chapter has confirmed the appointments of Diane Waldron as Chapter Chair and Aileen Crawford as Deputy Chair.

Diane, who is sales and marketing director at the QEII Centre in London and Aileen who is head of conventions at Glasgow Convention Bureau, provide a ‘wealth of experience and knowledge from the supply side of the market in addition to their geographic balance across the UK’, according to an ICCA release.

Incoming Chair, Diane Waldron, said: “ICCA UK & Ireland is one of the organisations strongest and most forward-thinking chapters.  Our annual debate this year in Belfast saw record attendees as we brought together members, potential members and association clients for two days of highly relevant and insightful education and networking.  As a chapter we continuously seek to improve, and I am delighted that will continue through both Aileen’s support and our hard-working committee.”

Diane Waldron was previously acting chair of the ICCA UK & Ireland Chapter.  She will hold the role of chair until May 2020.

ICCA UK & Ireland member and global vice president of ICCA, James Rees, said: “ICCA’s importance on the global meetings stage is more important now than ever before.  It is therefore vital that we have individuals focused on the development of the association and its membership to spearhead our chapters.  The ICCA UK & Ireland Chapter will undoubtably benefit from the leadership of two proven individuals with track records of success and the right skills to truly deliver for the UK and Irish markets.”
