Avid, a leading global media technology provider, has been announced as an Official Supporter of the Glasgow 2018 European Championships as broadcast graphics platform supplier.
Avid will supply broadcast graphics solutions to help bring the multi-sport event in Glasgow and Berlin to life for a potential TV audience of up to 1.03 billion.
Audiences across Europe will tune in to watch the continent’s best athletes compete in Athletics, Aquatics, Cycling, Golf, Gymnastics, Rowing and Triathlon between 2 and 12 August 2018.
Avid creates, distributes, and monetizes media assets for global media organisations, enterprise users and individual creative professionals and will work closely with the Championship’s Timing, Scoring and Results providers to ensure a high quality viewing experience for fans during the 11 days of sporting action.
Having provided similar services for NBC’s broadcast of the Olympic Games, Fox Sports’ Super Bowl, and the Chinese National Games, Avid brings a successful track record of working on live sports events globally.

To be staged every four years, Glasgow 2018 will be a new highlight on the global sporting calendar. With attendances of up to 250,000 expected at venues across Glasgow and Scotland, it is the biggest sporting event hosted in Scotland since the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.
